About the role
You will take the close off the founders' plate, decide what needs a real control, and be the person an outside CPA can work with without a scavenger hunt. Revenue is subscription plus occasional services. The role is a remote contract with a calendar: close date, board-style pack, and a list of judgments you want reviewed.
What you'll do
- Own the close calendar and the checklist that proves it happened
- Set recognition for subscription and services revenue and document the policy
- Review contractor classification, sales tax positions, and cash forecasts with the founders
- Give the outside tax preparer a package that does not need a second reconstruction
What we're looking for
- You have been the person who signed off on a close, not only the person who prepared schedules
- Clear writing about accounting judgments
