Director of Release Management

About the role

As more contractors touch the product, the release path has to stay boring. You will write the policy, decide which changes need a staged rollout, and be accountable when a release hurts a warehouse's day. You still sit in the checklist, not above it. Remote contract, reporting to engineering leadership.

What you'll do

• Define what can ship on the normal path and what needs an extra review
• Own rollback and communication templates for a bad release
• Measure change failure and time to recover, and bring the numbers to the weekly engineering review
• Train coordinators and engineers on the path so it does not live in one person's head

What we're looking for

• You have owned release or change management for a production system other teams depended on
• You have called a rollback and written down why

Nice to have

• .NET deployments, SQLite or Postgres migrations, or multi-tenant SaaS
