About the role
This is an internal accounting contract, not a customer-support role. You will reconcile bank and processor accounts, code contractor and software expenses, and prepare the monthly package the founders review. The books are small and should stay that way. Remote, and you will work in the ledger we already use.
What you'll do
- Reconcile cash accounts and payment-processor payouts each month
- Code expenses and flag anything that needs a founder decision before close
- Prepare a short monthly package: cash, revenue, and unusual items
- Keep sales-tax and contractor records ready for the outside preparer
What we're looking for
- Experience closing a small company's books, in-house or at a firm
- You reconcile to a source document, not to last month's spreadsheet
Nice to have
- SaaS revenue, Stripe, or deferred revenue
- A bookkeeping certification
